This is one of the most insulting things that I have every seen, it makes me so mad I actually want to cry. I can’t believe magazines think that they can just dipped a woman in brown paint, give her clothes from my culture to put on and have the audacity to call her an “African Queen”. Growing up I heard so may jokes about Africans and saw the negative stereotypes portrayed by the media that tried to make me feel bad about where I come from. Yet Ive noticed when fashion magazine want to do spreads portraying poise and exoticness they often turn to Africa ( proving time and again that Africa is more than the negative images you see in the media)  but this time, to try and take parts of my beautiful culture and have a white women play the role just proves that beauty cannot be seen in our countries/cultures unless it is represented by White people.

Stop white people once and for all

Yeezus Tour
September 12 || Qantas Credit Union Arena, Sydney, Australia.

This is literally from the video where this crusty asshole was yelling at two wheelchair bound people who were at his concert to stand up. I can’t stand him. He thinks he’s fucking anointed or some shit. As if his music is gonna heal them and make them walk. The entire crowd booed the two wheelchair bound people. Granted they didn’t know but you can’t assume everyone is able bodied. He’s such a dick.

I’m gonna stop you right there cause you have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about. As I was there.. and you were not. You’ve successfully been convinced by the media and their (twisted) version of what happened. I assume you never even saw the footage of it either? He did not yell at anyone, he performed the pre-planned “I want everyone to stand up for this song” bit and he specifically said unless you are disabled/are in a wheelchair then that is fine. He waited til he found out if they were disabled because the crowd was actually boo-ing them and telling them to stand up.. which probably confused him and he thought they were just being stubborn, and the second he found out they were wheelchair bound he said that’s fine and continued with the song. Get it right and stop reading perez hilton fucking articles cause let’s face it that guy amongst all other media sources just want to publicise Kanye in the worst way possible.

Whew. #FuckThePress

how did bikers ever get the reputation of being fearsome. Everything I’ve ever heard about them is always rides for charity, helping stray animals, telling kids to stay in school and doing cute shit like this and generally being nicer than 90% of the population.

A friend of mine told me this story last year when we were discussing studying abroad. It’s been an urban legend that supposedly has true roots:
TRIGGER WARNING: VIOLENCE
A couple went to visit China. They went to a shopping mall. The woman, who had auburn hair and a tattoo of a rose on her hip, picked out a couple of dresses and tops and went to the fitting room to try them on. Her husband waited outside for her.
20 minutes passed.
She still wasn’t done. He shrugged it off.
30 minutes.
He started to get worried.
40 minutes.
He knocked on the door of the fitting room and no answer. He called in an employee, and the employee opened the fitting room door for him.
There was no one in there.
Confused and upset, the man spent hours looking for his wife but to no avail. The hours turned into days, and the days turned into months. He eventually gave up hope and went back home.
4 years later, the man returned to China. He went to visit a circus. He enjoyed it, except for the last moments where they had a sort of “human freak show.” There was a person with all of her limbs cut off. Her face was mutilated beyond recognition, and she was missing a tongue and eyeballs. However, he could distinctly make out a rose tattoo on the hips and bright auburn hair.

This fucked me up

If anyone wants to know the “truth-side” to this story, I can tell you that in Asian countries (China, Thailand, India) there has been problems of people being kidnapped and mutilated in order to make a profit. While in this story, the poor woman was put into a circus for some sort of sick entertainment, usually the victims are hurt and then made into beggars. The victims are most often children.
The logic is that if someone is crippled, it elicits more sympathy in others and they will bring in more money. You can read first hand accounts here, here & here
